What do you do when it’s 30 below outside?

Bake bread, of course. Today, it was a wonderful whole wheat rye bread from The Enchanted Broccoli Forest. It has a lot of orange juice in it, and so I figured I would try the finished product with orange marmalade. Wonderful! Here’s hoping your cooking adventures are keeping you inside and warm this month!

Huckleberry Coffee Cake

I still have huckleberries in the freezer, so when I was inspired to make blueberry coffee cake yesterday, I substituted. I also cut the sugar in the cake by one third. Both changes were just fine – resulting in a fabulous little coffee cake. I hope this winter weather has got you in baking mode too! Earlier this week I I made a molasses whole wheat bread that’s one of my winter favorites. Happy is the oven that helps heat the winter home!
