Cooking for Company

As mentioned in my previous post, most people cook for company. I have gotten the chance to do that this week, while my Aunt Nancy is visiting from Torrington, Connecticut. We had a little cookout on the 4th of July, including fried corn (a la Helen Nearing) and Jeffrey’s new recipe for sweet potato/beet/kohlrabi mustard bake (at least that’s what I’m calling it). He also made us a nice pasta dish, and we had some great pork chops (responsibly farmed) a few days ago. We’re also letting others cook for us, though, including our beloved local Izzy’s Ice Cream – a St. Paul Institution. Have I mentioned my addiction to their Salted Caramel?
