Yesterday we visited our favorite local farmers’ market, and I was delighted to see the arrival of peas. At our market, this means both pea pods (for wonderful stir fry) and shell peas. We got two boxes of the latter, and had wonderful fresh peas with dinner last night. As I sat and shelled them, I thought what a wonderful meditation it was. Across the table, Jeffrey worked on fresh, local strawberries, preparing them for shortcake. Thanks Jim S. for tipping me off to local strawberry season! And hooray for the chance to get back to slow ways with slow food.
