Literally, feed one!

Today I am very happy to tell you that one of my classes is going to take part in a long-standing ritual. This ritual started on a fine spring day at the University of Maine. The weather was unseasonably warm, and my classes were doing presentations of one of their semester projects. That semester, they had been doing great work, and I decided that as a treat I would bring them cake, as it was my birthday! In the best tradition of Hobbits, I wanted to give something to others on my special day. Ever since then, I have kept a tradition that, if I have class on my birthday, I bring them cake. This year, it’s psychedelic cupcakes from a local retail establishment. Let the party begin!
